PostHeaderIcon Brain Injury Program

Individuals with head injuries are enrolled in this program based on the results of the neuropsychological evaluation.  This comprehensive program includes a combination of the above listed services, 3 days a week, 3-4 hours a day, for 8 weeks.  The goals of this program are:

  • Improve functional and cognitive abilities
  • Educate the individual and his/her family in understanding the challenges of brain injury
  • Restore real-life skills to maximize independent functioning within the family and the community
  • Return to work
 

PostHeaderIcon Biofeedback

This therapy utilizes psychophysiological measurements and relaxation training to decrease symptoms due to increased stress.  Biofeedback is helpful in improving headaches and many stress-related disorders
 

PostHeaderIcon Interactive Metronome Rehabilitation Program

This computer-based program is designed to improve the processing abilities that affect attention, motor planning, and sequencing.  Over time, it will strengthen motor skills, including mobility and gross motor function, and many fundamental cognitive capacities such as planning, organizing, and language.
 

PostHeaderIcon Cognitive Retraining

Sessions introduce and teach techniques to improve attention, memory, speed of processing, and reaction time.  Planning, sequencing, organizational skills, and reasoning are also areas of focus.
 

PostHeaderIcon Individual Psychotherapy

This therapy addresses coping techniques, problem solving strategies, improvement of self-esteem and interpersonal skills.  Adjustment to the neurological injury/disease is a major focus.
